Movie Review: Poultrygeist

While browsing Netflix this week, I found a ridiculous movie called Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead. It sounded so unbelievably absurd that I had to rent it. I watched it Thursday night. Well, I didn’t watch the entire movie. It was so bad that I had to stop it to end my misery.

The movie started off in a very stupid manner. It shows the nerdy director running around gathering everyone for the premiere of the film. This entire sequence was entirely too long and unmistakably cheesy. Once the actual picture starts, it isn’t half bad at first. A couple is shown making out in a cemetery where zombies ensue. The opening is very slapstick and silly, which I actually enjoy.

Beyond the opening scenes, the movie lurches into a downhill free-fall into cheesy absurdity. The movie has musical numbers! Awful! The lead character broke into song a few times and we finally had to eject the disc. Beyond the opening scene, nothing was even slightly amusing. I was hoping this movie would be so bad that it would be good, if you know what I mean. It wasn’t even that. This movie was one of the stupidest I have ever seen in my life.
