Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

In truth, I haven’t read a book in years. I often fancy the idea of being a reader, but never put down my magazines or Internet long enough to take the time to read an actual book. Tonight, I am going to start a book that I bought today. The book is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. If the cover isn’t enough to sell you, I’ll give you the opening sentence of the novel: “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.”

I wonder what Jane Austen’s reaction would be to this book if she were alive today. Especially after seeing’s description of the novel which reads, “The Classic Regency Romance – Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!” (That sold me, too.)

After only reading a single sentence, I love this book already! It could be, quite possibly, a modern masterpiece. Yes, I love zombies that much.

  1. I remember watching some zombie movies together in high school. We’d put them in slow motion and watch how phony they were (of course). Good times. I love your site. Very cool.
